Privacy policy

This is a documentation site with no accounts and nothing sold about you. A normal visit produces very little data.

Last updated 2026-10-10Written in plain language on purpose. If a sentence here is hard to read, tell us and we will rewrite it.

No accounts

There is nothing to sign up for, and no profile is built about you.

No advertising trackers

We do not run ad networks, ad pixels or cross-site tracking scripts.

No sale of personal data

We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, because we do not collect it in the first place.

One local setting

Your light or dark choice is the only thing this site stores in your browser.

The full policy

Everything this site does with data, in the order a visit produces it.

  1. 01

What is recorded when you visit

Like almost every website, this one is served through a hosting and content delivery platform. That platform processes standard technical request data as part of serving the pages, which typically includes your IP address, the time of the request, the page requested, your browser's user agent and the referring page.

We also collect aggregate page analytics: how many people viewed a page and roughly where they came from. This is measured in aggregate, not per person, and it is used only to understand which pages are useful.

    • Server and CDN request logs, processed by the hosting provider.
    • Aggregate page analytics, with no attempt to identify individuals.
    • No advertising trackers, and no sale of personal data.
  2. 02

    Cookies and local storage

This site uses as little browser storage as possible. The theme control stores your light or dark preference in your browser's local storage under the key photocraft-guide-theme, which keeps the page from flashing the wrong theme on your next visit. Clearing your browser storage removes it.

The analytics provider may set its own cookie or use a privacy-oriented, cookie-light measurement method, depending on how the site is configured. Beyond that, we do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

  3. 03

    Third-party services we rely on

Running a website means depending on a few services. For this site those are the hosting and CDN platform that serves the pages, and a privacy-oriented analytics service that counts visits. Each of these processes data under its own policy, and we choose providers that minimise what they collect.

We do not embed social media widgets, advertising networks or third-party comment systems on these pages.

  4. 04

    Links to other sites

This guide links out to the official PhotoCraft repository and to the ArtCraft website. Those are separate sites with their own content and their own privacy policies. Once you follow a link away from this guide, our policy no longer applies, and you should read the policy of the site you land on.

  5. 05

    Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over the personal data that is processed about you, including the right to access it, correct it, delete it, object to its processing or request a copy. Because this site does not build profiles and keeps only aggregate analytics, most of these rights are easy to satisfy: there is usually nothing personal to act on.

If you want to exercise a right, or you simply want to know what a visit records, email us and we will answer and act on a reasonable request. You can also reduce data collection on your side by blocking scripts, using your browser's private mode, or clearing the local storage key mentioned above.

  6. 06

    How long data is kept

Request logs at the hosting layer are kept for the short retention window the provider applies by default, which is measured in days rather than years. Aggregate analytics are retained as counts, not as identifiable records, and can be deleted on request. Local storage lives only in your browser and lasts until you clear it.
